We began this process well over a year ago when we started looking into software that would strengthen our ability to serve our account holders, improve the reliability of our products, and increase our potential for products and services in the future. Peoples Bank is proud to serve thousands of customers, and our new software will be a valuable tool as we continue to grow. As a customer, you will see updated online banking, a new website, new debit cards with tap-to-pay features, and more! We are excited about the options our new software will provide.

General Questions
Why is Peoples Bank changing its core software?
Our new core system will provide an improved customer experience both inside the bank and through the new online banking system. It also creates a more efficient system for managing core banking functions internally. Our goal is to create an improved process for both customers and employees.
Will there be any downtime that my transactions won’t happen or my funds won’t be available?
Online banking will be down Thursday, September 21, through Monday, September 25, but your funds will be available to spend through the whole process. Our ATMs will be down for part of the day on Thursday but should be back up by the end of the day.
Will my account and funds still be secure?
Yes, your funds and account information will still be secure. We take securing your information very seriously and only work with reputable, secure software providers. All funds will be secure and will continue to be insured by the FDIC.
Will I still be able to use the ATMs?
Our on-site ATMs will be temporarily out of service on September 21st. You can still use the FREE ATMS within the Alliance One network. We can also help you inside any branch during the time the ATMs will be out of service.
What if I need help or have other questions during the process?
We will continue to provide updated information on our website, but you can also call or email the bank at mybank@ptsb-in.com or 812-842-2265 for any questions you may have.
Account Questions
Will my account and its features change?
Most of our accounts will remain exactly as they are. If you have a Business Checking, PTSB Analysis, Public Funds Checking, Now Public Funds, Century MMDA, MMDA Sweep, Basic Checking, Super Now, Choice Checking, Free Checking, Peoples E Account, Senior Plus Checking, or a Young Peoples Savings account you should have received an account notification and new disclosures in the mail or email. If you have questions about your changing or existing account, please contact a branch today.
Will my account number change?
Your existing account numbers for checking and savings accounts will not change. Account numbers for loans, CDs, and IRAs will change; however, your account will not be affected. The bank’s routing number will not change.
Will my debit card continue to work?
Your existing debit cards will continue to work as cards are replaced over time. New cards will have tap-to-pay options, with Google and Apply Pay coming soon. New cards will be availbale at any time after September 25th for a fee. When your existing card reaches it’s expiration date, you will receive the new cards at no cost.
Will I need to order and pay for new checks?
Your current checks will still be valid after the launch.
Will this affect my Peoples Bank Credit Card?
Credit Cards will not be affected by the new system.
Online Banking Questions
Online banking will receive a major upgrade with our new system. The new Online Banking will be available beginning September 25th at 10:00 am.
Beginning Thursday, September 21st, no transactions will appear online until Monday, September 25th. This includes debit cards, checks, ACH credits or debits, balance changes, and transfers between accounts. Your transactions will still post to your account. Online transfers will be unavailable.
Will I need to reset my username and password for Online Banking? How do I do that?
You will create a new online banking password and security questions. For more information about access online banking after the upgrade, please see a staff member.
Will I still be able to view my account history?
- Account statements will be sent on September 21st. This is outside of our typical statement schedule but will complete the statement history on the old system.
- Beginning Friday, September 22nd, Online Banking information will be only be current as of Thursday, September 21st. Transactions from Friday through Sunday will not be available until Monday, September 25th.
- Once the new system is activated, only transactions after September 22nd will be available in online banking. If you receive e-statements, two years of e-statements will be available. There will be a period of time that statements will not be available.
- If you need access to account history that is not available in Online Banking, records can be printed at any branch.
What new features will online banking have?
Some new features include:
- The ability to turn debit cards on and off
- Increase your debit card limit for a limited time
- The ability to contact a Peoples Bank representative for assistance
- Use Stop Payments
- An upgraded user interface
Will I need to reset my account alerts?
Account alerts will not carry over from the existing system. You will need to re-configure those alert settings on the new online banking after September 25th.
Will my direct deposit still work?
Incoming direct deposits and ACH deposits from other banks to your account will see no interruptions. Outgoing bill payments will need to be set up again in the new online banking system.
Will Bill Pay and my Automatic Transfers still work?
All of your previously scheduled BillPay transactions initiated inside of Online Banking must be reset in the new system. Bill Pay recipient data will be transferred to the new system, but the actual transaction will need to be set up again.
This includes: All transactions initiated inside of BillPay. If you entered recipient information into Online Banking, your transactions will not process.
This does not include: Transactions initiated outside of the bank. If you entered your account number and routing number to an outside vendor (i.e. another bank, Centerpoint, etc), your transactions will still process.
BillPay will not be accessible beginning Friday, September 15th. You will not be able to schedule payments beyond September 21st.
The new BillPay system will be available on Monday, September 25th.
Will I still have mobile deposits?
Mobile Deposits will still be available.
Will I need to redownload the app?
Apple users will not need to redownload the current App. Android users will need to download the new app. The new app will be available for FREE on the Google Play and Apple App Store on September 25th. A link to the app will be here when available.
Will I need to create a new username and password for the app?
Log-in usernames and passwords will be the same as your new online banking information once you have reset it (after Setpmebr 25th).
Will my cash management tools for business checking change?
Cash management will still be available but will operate through the new online banking. Training and assistance will be available for Cash Management users.
